I have always had problems with air in my central heading system.

I146;m not loosing any boiler pressure so the air (or gas) must be entering the system via a micro leak or some other source.I have noted that the boiler runs quiet on the Central heating but when the hot water is in demand you can hear the diverter value turn to heat the water (note the hot water itself comes out the tap cloudy) and when the diverter value moves back to service the central heating demand you can hear air being introduced into the central heating system The system is regularly serviced. The Pressure relief value and automatic bleed vent have recently been replaced but problem still exists. Ive also sent a mail into Bosch and have posted the reply below of all to see and comment. In short they think it is a water condition problem and a PH test required. If the air is in the system and the pressure is not dropping then this might be a break down of the system water and would require a CORGI registered engineer to carry out a water sample on the system. Unfortunately our engineers only deal in the boiler so this would require an independent company to be called. This is quite bizarre advice So if it was oil-fired it would be okay Advice like this just muddies the water for the general public. They could be right about the hydrogen, but I need to dig out my old books as Ive heard this before. It146;s not something I have a high demand for in my tool kit, do you know how I can get hold of sum or is an alternative test available. Boots may sell litmus paper, but I dont think your problem is pH - which should be between 6.5 and 8 for a heating system, by the way. You can hire pH meters, but the cheap ones are notoriously unreliable for reading accurately. The sensor has to be neutralised in ordinary water, but if that water is not normal then they dont recalibrate I read about hydrogen separating out of water once but I cant find it in my old books. Worcester Bosch Highflow 400 Troubleshooting Crack Open APersonally, I would crack open a rad joint and see the colour of the water. Worcester Bosch Highflow 400 Troubleshooting Full Of TheI flushed a system a few weeks ago that seemed clear, but the rads (especially one) was quarter full of the sludge stuff. Ill try the suggested action and get back to you all with the results cheers Ed. Ive also held a lit match to one of the rads when bleeding it. ![]() It cant be being created as you say the water is clear, so it must be getting in. Does the system lose pressure One things for sure, you are going to have to cure this because it will create sludge in time, nothings more certain. That why I asked the question if its possible for air to enter the central heating side of the system from the hot water because when it switches from HW to CH you ca hear what sounds like air being introduced into the pipes.
